Come out to one of Lehigh Valley’s splendid coffee shops who have opened up their doors to host a conversation about the anti-human trafficking work that is taking place in our area.
Lehigh Valley’s anti-trafficking organizations will be providing knowledgeable people to help you as a community member be aware of what is happening how you can help.
Join us at our candlelight vigil to honor the survivors of sex trafficking and to show those who are silently suffering that they are not alone. You will hear powerful stories and poetry about survival and resilience. The musical performances will help soften the harsh realities of living on the streets.
The Red Sand Project, which symbolizes victims who have “fallen through the cracks” and are unnoticed by the system and the community. The project was created by artist Molly Gochman and uses red sand that is placed in the cracks of sidewalks to raise awareness to “modern-day slavery.” The grains of sand represent the millions of men, women and children from around the world that are in slavery today.
Survivor’s Award Breakfast, celebrating and commemorating the survivor leaders in the Lehigh Valley who help make a difference in the lives of others every day.
The Voices of Survivors Project came from a dissertation study conducted to directly highlight the voices of survivors and their expressed experiences, especially after separation from the trafficker.
Come attend a visual walk-through of the Voices of Survivors Project Photo Exhibit and participate in a Q and A with the author, Dr. Heather Evans, LCSW.
Hosted by the Northampton County District Attorney’s Office, please join us during Lehigh Valley Anti-Trafficking Week for a virtual panel on the unfortunate prevalence of sex trafficking in our area. Gain an understanding of the processes of investigating these crimes from the Northampton County District Attorney and his prosecutors, and learn about the selfless work done by local nonprofits to empower survivors.
